Bret was featured on the cover of the June 2002 WSA newsletter for receiving the first "Making a Difference Award" in the Westfield, NJ District by the Special Education Committee.  He received this award for successfully exercising his civil right, through a due process hearing, to be part of his high school graduation ceremony without receiving a diploma.

He is presently attending the Berkshire Hills Music Academy in South Hadley, MA where he is enjoying and expanding his independence.   Bret loves every aspect of the Academy, but is particularly enjoying all of the music venues he is experiencing.

He is taking private percussion lessons twice a week, a private voice lesson once a week, and is in a jazz ensemble and a pop-rock ensemble.  Recently, he mentioned that he joined a dance class and a yoga class.  We are very proud of Bret's accomplishments and his determination to grow and be as successful in life as he can be.
