Courtney

Back Up Next

Courtney Balcom is 7 years old, and was diagnosed with Williams Syndrome when she was about 8 months old.   When she was about a month old, she had hernia surgery.  When she was 6 months old, she had open heart surgery.

Courtney has been a very healthy child since then, and she is a happy girl who loves people.  She loves to listen to and sing along with music, especially worship music.  She loves the Lord very much and is fascinated with picture Bibles.

Courtney is home-schooled and is in first grade right now.  She is learning to read and write.  Recently, we were talking about her heart surgery (she still has her long scar), and she asked me, "When the doctors opened up my heart, did they see Jesus in there?"
