Danny

Back Up Next

This is our pride and joy, Danny.  He was born on April 29, 2000.  When he was a baby, he cried all the time.  When he was about 4 months old, he got bronchiolitis and was hospitalized.  After that, his doctor noticed he had a heart murmur.  He referred us to a pediatric cardiologist.  We saw that doctor for about a year and when it was time for his follow up, a backup cardiologist noticed that he had the symptoms of a William's Syndrome baby.  He was not walking yet.  He was small for his age and he was delayed.  She then referred us to a genetic specialist and that is when they diagnosed him with William's Syndrome.

Danny is a very special child.  He loves anything electronic -- video games, TV, etc...  He is in first grade now and he is reading 2-5 letter words, but he does not like to write.  We are trying to figure out if he has a hard time or if he just doesn't want to.  He is also having trouble with his numbers.  He has 2 aides with him at all times but he actually gets to spend most of the day with his regular class.  His attention span is getting better, but he does throw a lot of tantrums.

He loves music and dancing.  He is a very picky eater, but his favorite foods are pizza, chicken nuggets, and Honey Nut Cheerios.  Danny has a little sister and although they fight a lot if she is hurt or if she is in trouble, he is always right there to help her.  He loves to give hugs and kisses.  Danny loves Star Wars and Ninja Turtles.  He also wants to go to Hawaii and dance hula because he loves the cartoons Lilo and Stitch.  We are so proud of how much he has learned and are very hopeful for his future.

We would love to hear from other WS kids and parents.  Our e-mail address is nisanch@yahoo.com.
