Maddox was recently diagnosed with WS.
He was born on
12/13/06 two weeks early. He only weighed 4 lbs. 15 oz.
which was expected due to the many ultrasounds we had.
He was slow to gain weight @ first but isn't having to
many problems now, he is still small @ 14lbs. but
catching up quickly. He was diagnosed with moderate
pulmonary stenosis and mild aortic steno sis after his
pediatrician heard a murmur. This is just
being monitored @ this time, but will require ballooning
@ some time. He is still waiting to see the
ophthalmologist. Other than these few set backs he is
doing very well. Maddox is one of the happiest babies I
have ever seen. He absolutely loves his big sister
McKenzie, age 5. We are very thankful that this seems to
be mild @ this time, but we are still relatively new @
this whole thing and still going through a whole string
of emotions. We are getting ready to start some
therapies with Maddox, and pray that the early
intervention will be of great help. He is the light of
our lives and although things aren't what we expected we
are truly blessed in our lives. We would love to hear
from other parents as we are new to this.
