Zachary is 5 1/2 yrs old; he was born on June 6, 1996 zachary.jpg (9248 bytes)by cesarean section 2 wks past his due date. When he was born our Pediatrician said he looked more like he was 2 wks pre-mature. Zachary was a beautiful baby. Zachary was born with a slight heart murmur, but as of last year no Doctor has been able to hear it. Zachary was also jaundice and spent 3 days under billy lights. Nursing was slow in the hospital, but once at home he nursed fine until I weaned him at 7 mo. to go back to work. Zachary had no problems w/ sleeping; in fact he liked to sleep-in. At 10 mo Zachary was dx w/ failure to thrive, leading to the WS dx at 12 mo. Zachary was delayed in most ways; he didn't crawl until 11 mo and walk till 22 mo. Zachary started wearing glasses at about 2 1/2 yrs old, he had surgery for strabismus (lazy eye) in Aug of ’99’. Zachary has received, OT, PT and Speech since 14 mo, and still receives the same at school. His has made considerable progress since going to school. he attended 2 yrs of pre-k and is currently in morning kindergarten class with an educational aide. He rides on the big yellow school bus in the morning, he just loves that! He also stays an extra 45 each day for additional specials and resource room time.

Zachary’s favorite foods are grilled cheese sandwiches, chicken nuggets, bacon, fruits like apples, pears, grapes and oranges. He eats canned peaches and all kinds of crackers and granola bars. Dry cereal (sometimes w/milk) not a big cookie fan. He will eat bacon and chicken nuggets that's it for meats. He dislikes any soft foods and will gag if put in front of him. He is small for his age, weighting about 34 lbs.

Zachary is a happy, energetic little boy, who loves all kinds of vehicles, playing with his big collection of matchbox cars etc. He picked out a new bike w/training wheels for his birthday and loves to ride it every day. Zachary loves to read books, mostly ones about fire trucks or constructions trucks. He has 2 younger sisters Carly and Chloe; they get along as well as most siblings do! He also has two dogs Guido and Fretzel, who he loves very much, and a new kitten named Autumn (she was a gift from Santa) Zachary enjoys playing out side and going for walks (in a stroller!). This year I have seen how much Zachary has become so gracious with people, thanking them for visiting our house or just being themselves. He warms hearts wherever we go with his big smile and laughter. We are so blessed to have Zachary; we will always have sunshine in our lives.

We live in Connecticut and always like to hear from other WS families, so please e-mail us @ hollyweston@msn.com anytime.
